Requirements or Prerequisites
No formal prerequisites are required for this course. However, students should have a basic understanding of physics concepts, as well as a keen interest in pursuing a nursing career and achieving excellence in the TEAS exam.
Outcomes
Understanding Core Physics Concepts: Students will explore fundamental physics principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity, and optics. Emphasis will be placed on understanding how these concepts relate to nursing scenarios and patient care.
Applying Physics to Medical Devices: Participants will learn about the physics behind various medical devices commonly used in healthcare settings, such as X-ray machines, ultrasound devices, and blood pressure monitors.
Exploring Fluid Mechanics and Circulation: The course will cover the physics of fluid mechanics and its relevance to human circulation, oxygenation, and blood flow, crucial knowledge for nursing professionals.
Understanding Radiation Safety: Students will gain an understanding of radiation physics and safety protocols related to the use of radiation in medical imaging, ensuring patient and staff safety.
